It is time to prep the potatoes for planting. Chitting means cutting them up to expand our harvest potential, then coating them in ash before planting. We have about 150 lbs of seed potato to process, so we are throwing a potato chitting party in the spirit of many hands make light work

About the event
Note: Mother Nature is due to drop 3 inches of rain on us this coming week. We ARE in a drought, so we cannot complain, but the plots will be much too wet to plant in time, so all schedules are being pushed back by one week.
The more volunteers we can gather, the faster we will be done. We will start chitting at 10am in the barn at BurdSong Sanctuary, and go until we are finished. This is a Family-friendly event, but there will be folks with cutting boards and knives at work. Come on your own, or bring a friend. Please RSVP so we can send you reminders and plan for how many folks will be here.
